March 2025 Meeting Highlights
Our March meeting was an educational meeting with Member L doing a Jelly Roll Rug demonstration. A jelly roll rug is a type of handmade rug made from fabric strips, typically precut and rolled together, that are sewn together to create a rug. Thank you L for your informative demonstration!
Member A shared some adorable photos of her kitties enjoying their jelly roll creations!
Here are some examples from Member A’s presentation at the Annual Sewing Smorgasbord! The Sewing Smorgasbord is an annual event held in Thornville, OH that features over classes, vendors, fabric fair, raffle baskets and so much more!

February 2025 Meeting Highlights
Our February meeting included an excellent demonstration by Member KS on Repurposing and Upcycling For Sewing! She showed us how we can use our old clothes to create new and exciting items. She made this lovely hat using repurposed scrap fleece! Thank you KS for this fantastic demonstration.

January 2025 Meeting Highlights
We kicked off the new year with an excellent program with Member KH demonstrating how to make Clothesline Baskets and Bowls! Thank you, Karen!
Here are two helpful images to help with rope basket and bowl making. This first image shows different ropes from different sources with a price break down for each.

November 2024 Meeting Highlights
This month’s meeting had a holiday theme: “Dress in Holiday Attire. Bring your holiday items that you have sewn. They could be wardrobe, gift or decorating items.” Check out the projects our members worked on for the month of November! Interested in joining ASG? Our next meeting will be January 12, 2025! We take the month of December off to focus on spending time with our families. Our January meeting will be a demonstration on how to sew Clothesline Baskets like the ones in the images above. Interested in joining ASG? Come check us out! October 2024 Meeting Highlights
This month’s project theme was “focus on keeping warm. This might mean jackets, quilted shawls or blankets for your pet or a pet coat.”
Product recommendation! A member used this “Retro Clean” to successfully remove stains from vintage linens!
September 2024 Meeting Highlights
It’s National Sewing Month! This month’s challenge theme was to sew for charity. Members brought their sewing machines and supplies and sewed items for a charity of their choosing. Many of our members chose to sew dresses for Dress A Girl Around the World, of which our very own member, Karen, is a US Ambassador for. Dress A Girl Around the World provides dresses for girls living in extreme poverty. For more information you can check out https://www.dressagirlaroundtheworld.com/.
August 2024 Meeting Highlights
What a fantastic annual celebration meeting! Members brought in their fabric and other sewing items to sell or give away. We had some delicious food and sweet treats followed by some fabulous door prizes.
